Deprecation of Basic Authentication by Microsoft for Exchange Online

As announced by Microsoft, the Basic Authentication will be outdated by the 1st of October 2022. Which will impact your GoBright integration for your user login and room calendar synchronization with Basic Authentication.

For more information about this announcement please check this Microsoft article: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/clients-and-mobile-in-exchange-online/deprecation-of-basic-authentication-exchange-online

Solution

This can easily be solved by using Microsoft Modern Authentication. Which means that you can still use your current service account and only have to add an Enterprise Application in your Microsoft Azure AD environment.

Please follow the steps 3 and 4 in the following article to add our GoBright Enterprise Application to your Azure AD environment: Azure AD Enterprise Application integration (SSO/Office365)

Keep in mind that your GoBright Users are linked to the Basic Authentication integration for sign-in. To make this change with minimal impact, please change your current Basic Authentication Integration to Modern Authentication. This way you won’t have to change the integration name for all your GoBright Users.
