Outlook Plugin / Add-in

The following configuration is needed to integrate GoBright in the appointment window of the Outlook Calendar. It can be set up for either the Desktop or Web version of Outlook.

To use the plugin it is required to have the Rooms configured with a fully functional Office 365 or Exchange integration.

After the configurations you can search for available Rooms, add Services and pre-register your Visitors within your Outlook Calendar.

GoBright Outlook Add-in for Microsoft Office 365

The GoBright Outlook Add-in can be used with your Microsoft Office 365 tenant. The configuration below goes through the following steps:

  • Configuring the Outlook Add-in via the Web
    • Login to Outlook
    • Install the GoBright Outlook Add-in
Using the GoBright Outlook Add-in is the recommended way, and includes support for Outlook for Windows and MacOS. This requires the use of Office 365 and the latest Outlook version which is automatically distributed with Office 365, because the Outlook Add-in uses the latest features of Outlook which comes with Office 365.

The Outlook Plugin can be added as an add-in and installed via an URL.

Notes:

  • The Outlook Add-in for Office 365 works in combination with Modern Authentication as authentication method (SAML authentication is not supported)
  • If you previously installed the ‘old’ GoBright plugin (including the MSI installer), you need to uninstall the old plugin otherwise there will be two GoBright buttons in the Outlook appointment window.

Install the Outlook Web Add-in

Install the Outlook Web Add-in for the entire organization

It is possible to install the add-in for the entire organization. Please view the documentation below and be aware that an admin account is required:

Supported authentication method:
It is required to use the add-in in combination with Microsoft Modern Authentication.

GoBright Outlook Plugin for Microsoft Exchange

GoBright Outlook Plugin can be used for on-premises Microsoft Exchange installations or Microsoft Outlook which is not automatically updated via Office 365.

The configuration manual goes through the following steps:

  • Configuring the Outlook Plugin for Desktop
    • Install Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime
    • Run the GoBright Outlook Desktop Plugin Setup
    • Start Outlook
  • Configuring the Outlook Plugin for Web
    • Login to Outlook
    • Install the GoBright Outlook Web Plugin

The GoBright Outlook plugin for Outlook Desktop requires the following software to be installed:

Please note that the installer based plugin is only needed if you are not using Office 365. If you use Office 365 then please use the ‘GoBright Outlook Add-in’ approach, as described above.

Install Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime

Run the Outlook Desktop Plugin Setup

  • Download the Outlook Desktop Plugin Setup here
  • Run the installer
  • Read and accept the Terms and conditions
  • Choose the destination folder
  • Press install to continue the setup
  • When the setup has been completed press Finish to exit the setup

Automatically roll out the Outlook Desktop Plugin to multiple clients

System administrators can install the Outlook Desktop Plugin via policies or other network management tools.
The following command is used to roll out the Outlook Desktop Plugin automatically:

msiexec /i GoBright.OutlookDesktopPlugin.Setup_x.x.xxxx.msi /qn

Start Outlook

  • Open Outlook
  • Schedule a new apppointment
  • The GoBright logo will appear on the top right corner:

  • The Plugin can now be used

The Outlook Plugin can be added as an add-in and installed via an URL. The following versions are supported:

  • Office365 / OWA (Outlook Web Access) or Exchange 2016
