Schemaläggning
Before scheduling a playlist, there are a few settings you should consider:
-
When should the playlist start playing?
-
When should the playlist stop playing?
-
Should the playlist run across multiple days?
-
Should the playlist repeat on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis?
Since there are several ways to schedule a playlist, the following examples demonstrate some of the most common scheduling scenarios. This will help you understand how to configure playlists to meet different display and timing requirements.
One-Time Playlist
We’ll start by creating a playlist that is displayed only once on a specific date and during a specific time period. In this example, the playlist is scheduled to run for a single day, from 08:00 to 17:00.
This type of schedule is ideal for one-time events, announcements, or promotional content that only needs to be displayed during a defined timeframe.
The settings above will schedule the playlist to run on Friday, 06 November, between 08:00 and 17:00.
If the All day checkbox is selected, the start and end times are removed, and the playlist will run for the entire day.
The Till date determines when the playlist will stop being displayed. By default, it is set to the same date as the Start date, resulting in a single-day schedule.
If you select a later Till date, the playlist will continue to run on each day within the selected date range. This makes it easy to schedule content that needs to be displayed over multiple consecutive days without creating separate schedules for each day.
Now that the date has been updated, the schedule has been changed from Friday the 6th of November till Friday the 13th of November. Do note that the playlist starts at 08:00 on Friday and will end on next Friday at 17:00. That means that it will keep playing all day long in the days between.
Om vi vill schemalägga en spellista som upprepas vid specifika tidpunkter måste vi använda en upprepad spellista.
Upprepa spellista
A repeating playlist is ideal for content that needs to be displayed on a recurring basis over multiple days, weeks, months, or years. Recurrence settings are configured in the Repeating section of the playlist.
By enabling repetition, you can define how often the playlist should be shown and create schedules that automatically repeat according to the selected pattern. This provides a flexible way to manage recurring content without having to create separate schedules for each occurrence.
When Repeat is set to Daily, as shown in the example above, the playlist will be displayed every day. By increasing the number of days, you can create a recurring pattern, such as displaying the playlist every 2, 3, or more days instead of daily.
This recurrence pattern will continue until the selected End date is reached. Once the End date has passed, the playlist will no longer be displayed according to the recurrence schedule.
The Ending setting determines when the recurring schedule should stop. You can choose to have the playlist:
-
Never end
-
End on a specific date
-
End after a specified number of occurrences
In the example above, the playlist is configured to repeat according to the selected recurrence pattern until Wednesday, 18 November. After that date, the schedule will automatically stop and the playlist will no longer be displayed.
Veckans spellista under kontorstid
A common scheduling scenario is to display content during standard office hours, Monday through Friday. This can be achieved by configuring the playlist with a weekly recurrence pattern and selecting the desired weekdays.
Configure the schedule to run between your preferred start and end times, then select Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday as the recurring days. The playlist will then be displayed during office hours on weekdays only and will not run on weekends.
The following settings demonstrate how to create a recurring playlist schedule that runs during standard office hours from Monday to Friday.
Set the Start date and define the office hours during which the playlist should be displayed. In this example, the playlist is scheduled to run each day from 08:00 to 17:00.
These times determine when the playlist becomes active and when it stops playing on the selected days. Outside of these hours, the playlist will not be displayed.
Set Repeat to Weekly and select the weekdays on which the playlist should be displayed. Then, set Ending to Never to keep the schedule active indefinitely.
With these settings, the playlist will automatically repeat every week on the selected weekdays and continue running until the schedule is manually modified or disabled. This is an ideal setup for recurring content displayed during standard office hours.
Flera scheman i en enda spellista
It is possible to add multiple schedules to a single playlist. This allows you to create specific, customized display schedules for different times, days, or scenarios.
In the example below, we will build on the weekly playlist configuration and add an additional schedule period.
To create a new schedule, click the Add period button. This adds another scheduling rule to the playlist, allowing it to be displayed according to multiple independent time periods.
Now we copy the schedule settings from the weekly playlist but change the times to 10:00 and 12:00 and only select Thursday and Friday. This creates a schedule where all days play from 8:00 to 17:00 except on Thursday and Friday, where the end time is 12:00.
Kalendervy
When using multiple schedules, it can sometimes be difficult to get a clear overview of when a playlist is set to run. In these situations, the Calendar view provides a more intuitive, calendar-style representation of all scheduled periods.
To switch from the list view to the calendar view, click the Calendar button in the top-right corner of the screen.
The calendar view makes it easier to visualize schedule overlaps, recurring playlists, and multiple schedule periods, helping you quickly verify when and where content will be displayed.
