The Association of Dutch Municipalities (Vereniging van Nederlandse Gemeenten, VNG) is the umbrella organisation for all municipalities in the Netherlands. Municipalities and their suppliers aim to make it easier to establish clear and realistic agreements regarding the processing of personal data. Therefore, municipalities, suppliers, and the VNG together have developed a standard Data Processing Agreement. Dutch municipalities are required to use this document when they start a new cooperation with a supplier that will process personal data, preventing situations where municipalities and their processors are unable to make additional agreements about data processing. For new processing agreements, this saves valuable time and energy, as there is clarity in advance on how personal data will be processed.
GoBright normally uses its own Data Processing Agreement (DPA), which is stricter in some areas of data security than VNG’s standard processing agreement. To make it easier for municipalities, GoBright and VNG have agreed that GoBright will adopt the VNG Data Processing Agreement. This ensures that all Dutch municipalities can be confident that GoBright meets VNG’s requirements and DPA. Data Processing at GoBright
