Installation and update of GoBright Device app on Qbic displays via local network

This is an installation manual to install the GoBright Device app on BoxPc Qbic BXP-350. Please follow the steps below.

1.1 Download the latest GoBright App to your PC https://install.gobright.cloud/fulldeviceapp/

1.2 The BoxPC needs power and connect it with Wi-Fi or PoE+ cable

1.3 (Optional) Perform a factory reset on the device: Go to Settings > Reset Options > Erase all data (Factory reset)

2.1 On a local PC, open a browser and go to: http://share.qbictechnology.com/external_share/qrc/#/configuration/

2.2 Set scan range please enter the IP address of the device(s) and click SCAN to detect them.

2.3 Once device(s) are found select the device(s) by ticking the checkbox under Scanned Devices.

2.4 Open the Settings drop-down menu

2.5 Select the checkbox for Time Zone and select your time zone

2.6 Select the checkbox for Enable Password and enter a new password in the Security Password field (This will overwrite the default password after a factory reset: 12345678)

2.7 Scroll down and open the Remote Control drop-down menu

2.8 Select the checkbox App Install/Update and click Choose Files or Browse…

2.9 Select the downloaded GoBright APK file

2.10 Select the checkbox App Start end enter the following text by:
Package Name: com.gobright.brightbooking.display
Class Name (include the first dot): .activities.general.StartActivity

2.11 Scroll down and click Start Configuration

2.12 The GoBright app will now be uploaded and installed on the selected device(s)

3.1 The app will request the necessary permissions to operate and manage the device. Please allow or confirm all prompts. If any Android settings are changed, use the Back arrow icon to proceed with the installation

3.2 Select Confirm and reboot

3.3 After reboot your GoBright Activation Code is presented

With the Activation Code, you can proceed to the next step and activate the display in the GoBright portal.

Notes

Internet connection

For the highest reliability, we strongly recommend using a wired network connection (PoE+) whenever possible.

If you need to use Wi-Fi, we recommend disabling the following options in the Android Wi-Fi settings:

• Avoid poor network connections
• Notify whenever a public network is available

Disabling these options can improve the reliability of the connection, for example when maintenance or changes are being made to the Wi-Fi network.

You can find these settings under Android Settings > Wi-Fi > Advanced.

To access the Android settings, you may first need to close the GoBright app on the display. See Close the GoBright app on a display for instructions.
