Installation of GoBright Device app on Qbic TD-1050 Android 5.1

This is an installation manual to install the GoBright Device app on Qbic TD-1050 display. Please follow the steps below.

Check if your device is on the list of GoBright certified hardware here

Important note: GoBright app version full-14.29.apk or higher is needed

Firmware version: v1.1.2

Start up the display

  1. Connect the device using a PoE+ cable or power it with an adapter, and connect it to Wi-Fi
  2. (Optional) Perform a factory reset on the device: Go to Settings > Reset Options > Erase all data (Factory reset)
  3. Select Settings in the bottom-right corner
  4. Select Player Settings
  5. Scroll down to Android System and enableSwitch to native android mode
  6. Press the center bottom HOME-dot in the navigation bar

Download the GoBright Device app

  1. Open the Browser
  2. Browse to https://install.gobright.cloud and select Meet/Work/Visit
  3. Select Lower than Android 8
  4. Select Download GoBright Device App (xx.xx) and confirm by tapping Download

Install the GoBright Device App

  1. Press the center bottom HOME-dot in the navigation bar
  2. Select the app drawer icon (six dots) and open APK installer
  3. Select Install
  4. Choose Internal Memory
  5. Navigate to the Download folder
  6. Select the downloaded APK file
  7. In the security prompt, tap Settings and enable Unknown sources
  8. Tap OK and go Back with the Arrow back icon
  9. Select the APK file again and tap Next and Install

    Wait for the installation to complete, then select Done

  10. Press the center bottom HOME-dot in the navigation bar
  11. Open Settings and select Player Settings
  12. Scroll down to Android System and disableSwitch to native android mode
  13. Press the center bottom HOME-dot in the navigation bar
  14. Press on the magnifying glass symbol and select GoBright – Device

    The GoBright app will automatically launch after 20 seconds
  15. Check Date and time (change if necessary) and select Confirm and reboot
  16. After reboot your GoBright Activation Code is presented

With the activation code you’re able to go to the next step and activate the display in the GoBright portal

Notes

*) Regarding the internet connection, we strongly advise to use wired (PoE+) connections for highest reliability.

If you have to use Wi-Fi, please make sure you have disabled the ‘Avoid poor network connections’ and ‘Notify whenever a public network is available’ in the Wi-Fi settings menu within Android. This will increase the reliability, for example when maintenance is done on the Wi-Fi network.

Please note: not all Android versions have these options, so these options might not be applicable for your device
