Most offices are full of smart technology but most employees barely notice it. Screens sit idle. Sensor data never reaches the people it could help. Buildings and the employees inside them operate in parallel — connected to everything except each other.

GoBright is changing that. We have spend decade building a smart workplace platform that does more than manage bookings. Our vision; the Personalised Workplace: an intelligent layer that sits between people and buildings, learns from behaviour, and makes the office work for the individual.

The Avixa platform spoke with our CCO Chris Wiegeraad, about how the GoBright vision looks like in practice.

The Personalised Workplace: GoBright’s Vision for the next evolution of the Smart Workplace

Walk us through how the Personalised Workplace actually works.

Chris Wiegeraad: Think of two sides. On the left: the office user, with all their touch points — laptop, mobile, room panels, desk booking panels, smart lockers, height-adjustable desks. On the right: the building’s sensor grid, collecting data on occupancy, temperature, humidity and behaviour.

Right now GoBright’s platform has become the engine in the middle.

We pull in data from the user’s touch points and from the building’s sensors, and surface it through a unified dashboard. A user can check real-time room occupancy or temperature before they even leave their desk.

Then you add AI. If I book Room 3 at 10am every Tuesday, the AI recognises this pattern. It messages me: “Chris, want me to book that again?” I’ill say yes. Then it asks: “You usually set it to 21 degrees — would you like me to set it at that temperature?”.

Then device management comes in. If the screen in Room 3 breaks overnight, the system knows before I arrive. The AI messages me: “Due to a faulty screen we have moved you from room 3 to room 4 and set it to 21 degrees.” I do not have to do anything.

All of this runs on current infrastructure. No large new investments required.

“AI can see my behaviour and tell me: ‘Hey Chris, next Tuesday you always take Room 3. Want me to book it again?'”.

This new type of Smart Workplace Solution is what GoBright offers to its partners and customers.

GoBright's vision of the Personalised workplace

Build on existing hardware

Part of our vision is doing more with what’s already in the building.

After COVID, average office occupancy dropped to around 30%. Meeting rooms were already packed with hardware: screens, microphones, room panels, bars. Companies have already invested heavily and are not willing to invest again on top of that.

So we asked: can the software run on the infrastructure that is already in place?

A meeting room screen not in use during a meeting can display other information. A room booking panel that sits green or red all day can serve as a signage screen in between meetings. GoBright takes Digital Signage raises its possibilities and connects to other solutions — it enables routing, wayfinding and mapping across the building, all on screens that are already installed.

You get more capability out of the same hardware. No replacements. No waste.

“The infrastructure of the building can do so much more” Chris Wiegeraad, CCO, GoBright

The GoBright platform as the engine in between.

People talk about offices being ‘smart’, but most employees don’t experience it that way.

Because people are not connected to the building. They are connected to their phone, their laptop, Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace. That is their world. The building might have a full sensor grid running underneath it, but none of that data reaches the user. It is invisible to them.

A simple example: you book a Teams meeting, walk into the room, and still have to touch every button to start the screen and launch the call. For most people, that is genuinely stressful. Studies show it takes as little as ten seconds of fumbling before someone gives up and abandons the technology entirely.

GoBright changes that. The platform connects people to the building seamlessly, so technology works with them, not against them. Meeting rooms adapt to preferences, and employees experience a workplace that truly feels smart. No fumbling, no frustration — just a smooth connection between person and space.

Working with channel partners: a deliberate strategy

GoBright works exclusively through channel partners. What does the Personalised Workplace vision mean for AV integrators?

We help integrators sell more hardware. Every touch point in the GoBright platform needs a physical device. A visitor management , Digital signage, Wayfinding and mapping all need screens. The hardware is always AV.

We provide the software. Our partners handle the hardware, the installation, the quoting. That is a genuine partnership, and it is the only model we use. Many of our competitors go directly to end customers. We do not. Our growth is built entirely through the channel.

Our software is certified and integrated with the major hardware vendors. With Cisco, for example, we can tap into sensor grids that many companies already have installed. We deliver the dashboard on top, and suddenly their existing room panels and bars have new purpose through our platform.

That elevates the partner’s portfolio and increases ROI for the end customer. The Personalised Workplace is not something GoBright builds alone. We need our partners for installation, for selling, for quoting. We want to do this together.
