Sony – Installing the GoBright App
Generic Information
How to factory reset the device:
- Keep the button pressed at the center bottom of the screen;
- Unplug the Power cable for 10 seconds – still keep button pressed;
- Plug the power cable back in – still keep button pressed until erasing is shown (you might miss this message since it’s very quick).
Installing Device Owner App
- Do a factory reset
- Put GoBright Device Owner App for Sony in the root of a USB stick
- Plug in the USB stick when the screen is in the welcome screen (no need to choose language at this stage)
- Choose allow to access photos etc. of the USB (2x)
- Select Install when prompted
- Scroll down to select Accept
- Select Install
- Select Activate this device admin app
- Remove USB when prompted and select OK
- Device will restart
First Configuration
- Choose Language
- Select Skip
- If using Wifi, select your Wifi network. WLAN will continue automatically
- Accept terms of service
- Accept Google services
- Walk through the features (a short video is shown)
- Agree Sony Privacy policy
- Select Table top or Wall mount
- Select Next then Complete
- Remove favorite preset apps by long pressing the app and choose remove from favorites
- Press + to add GoBright Device Owner App
- Open GoBright Device Owner App
- Select install latest device app and wait until installation is completed
- Select Exit
Set PIN Code for Security and energy settings
- Go to Settings (gear symbol at the right top)
- Go to Network and Internet
- Go to Local Network Setup
- Go To IP Control
- Turn on Simple IP Control
- Select OK on power consumptions
- Select Authentication
- Select Normal and Pre-Shared Key
- Go back one step and go to Pre-Shared Key
- Enter key 010101 and save by selecting checkmark
- In the settings go to Apps -> Special app access -> Energy optimization and make sure to turn off the two GoBright applications (GoBright device owner and GoBright device app)
- In the settings go to System > Power and energy > Energy saver > Turn off display after 4 hours. Change that to “Never” and press OK.
Second Configuration
- Go back to main screen
- Select Google Play Store and then the Gear icon in the right top corner
- Select Settings
- Select Auto-update apps
- Select Don’t auto-update apps
- Go back to main screen
- Open Pro Settings app
- Select Pro Settings mode
- Select OK
- Info: Pro settings in process in purple in top of screen
- Go to Settings (gear) and select Pro Settings
- Select Allow multiple times
- Scroll down and select Initial input source
- Select Android App
- Scroll down and select GoBright – Device (NOT GoBright Device Owner)
- Select OK
- Scroll up and right and select OK again
- Scroll down to Apps (select apps to enable in PRO mode)
- Select Pro Settings and select Enable
- Select GoBright – Device and select Enable
- Go back to Pro Settings
- Scroll up and select Start Pro mode

Select OK

- GoBright App starts
- Select Allow 3 times
- Select Confirm and Reboot
- Activation Code is shown to activate the device in the GoBright portal
