HR Business Partner (24–32 hours)

Become the connecting force behind people, structure and culture

Join a fast developing, ambitious, technology-driven organisation in Alblasserdam. The team here builds smart solutions that make workplaces more efficient, clearer and future-ready. Innovation isn’t a buzzword; it’s daily practice. People take ownership, lines are short, and ideas turn into action quickly.

Experience an environment with real ambition. There are no tedious hierarchical layers or slow decision-making; instead, a culture that rewards initiative and moves at pace.

This isn’t a role where everything is already in place. You’ll join an organisation that’s growing, expanding internationally and working hard to protect its culture as it scales. That’s exactly where you come in.

Growth brings opportunity and challenge in equal measure. Structures are being built out, processes sharpened, and leadership develops further. HR plays a key role in this, not as a support function, but as a strategic driver.

What’s the offer

  • A role for 24 hours or more
  • Real scope to take ownership
  • An international working environment with visibility across Europe and the US
  • A varied role with a high degree of autonomy
  • Colleagues who want to move forward, and bring you with them
  • Trust in your expertise and the freedom to act on it
  • The chance to shape HR further within a growing organisation
  • A workplace where change is the norm, not the exception

What you’ll be doing

The organisation is professionalising and growing at the same time. Working internationally is standard practice, English is the working language in many processes, and issues, including employment law questions, are becoming more complex. At the same time, the culture stays true to its SME roots: direct, hands-on and free of unnecessary layers. This isn’t a corporate environment. It’s one where you adapt, take action, and sometimes simply get on with it.

The role is deliberately broad. You’re not just a sparring partner; you’re also the person who makes sure the fundamentals are right. That means moving between content, operations and organisational awareness. As HR Business Partner, you won’t be advising from the sidelines. You’ll sit at the centre of the organisation, working closely with managers and the leadership team. You’ll understand what’s going on, sense where the friction is, and know when to speed up or slow down.

You’ll move continuously between strategy and operations. One day you’re discussing organisational growth and leadership, the next you’re supporting a manager through a complex case. That variety is what makes the role interesting.

In practice, you will:

  • Translate organisational goals into a clear, workable HR strategy
  • Guide growth and change processes, keeping the organisation agile
  • Support management with practical and strategic HR advice
  • Pick up on what’s happening across the organisation and act on it early
  • Contribute to international HR questions and employment law matters
  • Support office management and diary management
  • Strengthen leadership and help teams develop further
  • Spot trends and opportunities, and translate these into concrete improvements
  • Help build a strong, future-focused HR function
  • Manage and draft contracts and HR administration
  • Take responsibility for matters such as the vehicle fleet and staff arrangements
  • Onboard new employees and set them up for a strong start
  • Protect and further build the organisational culture

Why you’ll want to work here

Because here, you don’t just take part; you help build. You’ll be part of an organisation that’s growing, professionalising and moving forward, and an HR function that makes a real difference within it. If you’re energised by dynamic environments, responsibility and working at the intersection of people and strategy, you’ll feel at home quickly. You won’t be one voice among many in a large HR department. You’ll make the difference yourself, and you’ll see the impact of your work in structure, culture and growth every day.

What you bring onboard

You have experience in a broad HR role, ideally within an SME environment. You’re commercially aware and know when to adjust your style and tone. You keep sight of the bigger picture, while being willing to get into the detail. You ask questions, challenge where needed, and create momentum.

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree, preferably in HRM or a related field
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, growing organisation
  • At least 5 years’ experience in an operational HR role
  • Based in or near the region, and available to work from the office regularly
  • Affinity with, or knowledge of, international employment law
  • Strong command of English
  • Hands-on, with no hesitation around administrative work
  • A strong sense of culture and team dynamics
  • Available for 24 hours or more per week
