Close the GoBright app on a display

Once a device is activated, regular users can no longer access the device settings. As a result, changes such as updating network settings cannot be made through the standard user interface.

Exiting kiosk mode

To prevent unauthorized users from changing device settings, the app runs in kiosk mode. This means there is a restricted environment in place, and accessing the device settings requires a special procedure.

Step 1: Get access to the settings

To access the settings, you must perform a specific sequence of swipe gestures. Complete the following swipe movements on the display as three separate swipes:

The movements are: swipe down, [release finger], swipe left, [release finger], swipe up.

Please note: these are three separate swipe movements, it is necessary to take your finger off the display after every swipe movement.

Step 2: System admin-pin code

Because the swipe movements are always the same, an admin PIN code is also required. Without this PIN code, access to the device settings is not possible.

First, verify whether a PIN code is configured in the device profile:

  • Go to the GoBright PortalSettingsDevicesProfiles

  • Select the appropriate profile: Room display, Map Viewer, Wayfinder, or Room display with control

  • To check the Visit profile, go to SettingsVisitProfiles

Ensure that the Protected settings checkbox is enabled. This setting is required to use an admin PIN code.

Once activated, the device will automatically receive its PIN code from the assigned profile.
