Configuring wayfinders

Wayfinders provide a clear, real-time overview of rooms, including their availability and current bookings – just like the information displays you’re familiar with at airports, now brought into your own office.

Each wayfinder is created and managed through the portal. During setup, you give it a name and select the specific rooms you want it to display.

To control how the wayfinder looks and behaves, you configure a wayfinder profile under Settings > Devices > Profiles. This profile defines the visual style and functionality of the wayfinder.

Once the wayfinder and its profile are set up, you create a device. The device represents the physical or digital screen on which the wayfinder is displayed. At this stage, you simply link the device to the chosen wayfinder and wayfinder profile, and it’s ready to use.

Manage wayfinders

Log in to the GoBright portal with your manager account, then navigate to Settings > Meet.

In the left-hand submenu, select Wayfinders.

The list of wayfinders will be displayed on the right-hand side.

Configure a wayfinder

Add a new wayfinder by clicking the blue Add button. When adding or editing a wayfinder, you can adjust the settings specific to that wayfinder.

General

A wayfinder has a name, which is used internally within GoBright (for example, to link the wayfinder to a device).

The language setting determines the language displayed on the wayfinder screen. By default, this matches your system’s default language, but you can change it if a different language is required.

The title and subtitle you enter are displayed at the top of the wayfinder when it is shown on a display.

Linked rooms

Link the rooms you want to display on the wayfinder. After linking a room, you can reorder the list to control the sequence in which rooms are shown.

In most cases, you should assign an arrow icon to indicate the direction of each room relative to the physical position of the wayfinder display. For example, if you need to go left to reach the boardroom when standing in front of the wayfinder, assign a left arrow to the linked Boardroom.

The order of the rooms and the selected icons together determine how the information is presented on the wayfinder display.

Adding Wayfinder to a device

To link a wayfinder to a device, you need to navigate to Settings > Devices > Profiles > Add and create a wayfinder display profile, which you then assign to the display.

You can use either a touch or non-touch screen to display your map viewer. To add a device, go to the GoBright portal under Settings > Devices > Displays > Add, then select the profile for your wayfinder and the wayfinder itself. You can grant access either via an Activation Code or a Direct Access URL.

With a Direct Access URL, you can display the map viewer on your device without needing the GoBright device app. For more information on activating a device using the GoBright app, please refer to the linked article.
