Installation and update of GoBright Device app on Qbic displays via local network

This is an installation manual to install the GoBright Device app on BoxPc Qbic BXP-350. Please follow the steps below.

Check if your device is on the list of GoBright certified hardware here

Important note: GoBright app version full-14.29.apk or higher is needed

Start up the display

  1. Download the latest GoBright App to your PC https://install.gobright.cloud/fulldeviceapp/
  2. The BoxPC needs power and connect it with Wi-Fi or PoE+ cable
  3. (Optional) Perform a factory reset on the device: Go to Settings > Reset Options > Erase all data (Factory reset)

Remote Installation via Qbic Remote Configuration Center

  1. On a local PC, open a browser and go to: http://share.qbictechnology.com/external_share/qrc/#/configuration/

    NOTE: If using Chrome or Edge, follow the browser prompts to enable web-related API access (not required in Firefox).

  2. Set scan range please enter the IP address of the device(s) and click SCAN to detect them.
  3. Once device(s) are found select the device(s) by ticking the checkbox under Scanned Devices.
  4. Open the Settings drop-down menu
  5. Select the checkbox for Time Zone and select your time zone
  6. Select the checkbox for Enable Password and enter a new password in the Security Password field (This will overwrite the default password after a factory reset: 12345678)
  7. Scroll down and open the Remote Control drop-down menu
  8. Select the checkbox App Install/Update and click Choose Files or Browse…
  9. Select the downloaded GoBright APK file
  10. Select the checkbox App Start end enter the following text by:
    Package Name: com.gobright.brightbooking.display
    Class Name (include the first dot): .activities.general.StartActivity
  11. Scroll down and click Start Configuration
  12. The GoBright app will now be uploaded and installed on the selected device(s)

Final Setup on the Device

  1. The app will request the necessary permissions to operate and manage the device. Please allow or confirm all prompts. If any Android settings are changed, use the Back arrow icon to proceed with the installation
  2. Select Confirm and reboot
  3. After reboot your GoBright Activation Code is presented

With the activation code you’re able to go to the next step and activate the display in the GoBright portal

Notes

*) Regarding the internet connection, we strongly advise to use wired (PoE+) connections for highest reliability.

If you have to use Wi-Fi, please make sure you have disabled the ‘Avoid poor network connections’ and ‘Notify whenever a public network is available’ in the Wi-Fi settings menu within Android. This will increase the reliability, for example when maintenance is done on the Wi-Fi network.

Please note: not all Android versions have these options, so these options might not be applicable for your device
