Installation of GoBright Android App on Philips Signage display

Follow these steps to install the GoBright App on Philips BDL3650q and BDL4650d – Signage displays:

To make installation easier please connect a USB keyboard and mouse to the Philips display

Start up the display

  1. Choose your preferred language and select Start
  2. Skip the ‘Clone Media Files into Internal’
  3. Skip the ‘Signage Display Settings’
  4. Enable in the Security Settings menu: SICP Network Port, FTP, Admin Password, External storage and Unknown Sources Installation and press Next
  5. Select in the Network Settings; Ethernet. Turn on Ethernet in the top and select Finish
  6. Skip the Wave function
  7. Use the remote and press the ”HOME” icon
  8. The Picture, Screen, Audio, PIP and Configuration 2 settings can be set as preferred.
    Navigate to Configuration 1 and select Boot on source. Disable ‘Last Input’ and select by Input ‘Custom’. Save this action and navigate to Advanced option.
  9. Select by Power Save ‘Mode 4′

Download the GoBright Device app

  1. Use the remote and press ”HOME-1-8-8-8″
  2. Login with default password: 1234
  3. Select Apps
  4. Open Chromium app (choose “no-thanks” in the browser if asked)
  5. Browse to https://install.gobright.cloud and select View
  6. Select Android 8 or higher
  7. Select Download GoBright Device App (xx.xx)
  8. Select ‘Download anyway’
  9. Select Open and Install

  10. When the GoBright app is installed select Done

Install the GoBright Device App

  1. Use the remote and press ”HOME-1-8-8-8″
  2. Login with default password: 1234
  3. Select Apps
  4. Select Settings
  5. Select Signage Display
  6. Select Source settings
  7. Select Custom app
  8. Enable “Force restart custom app” and click on select app>GoBright app>Save.
  9. Use the remote and press ”HOME-1-8-8-8″
  10. Select Apps
  11. Select GoBright app
  12. Select ‘While using the app’
  13. Select ‘Allow’
  14. Select ‘Continue’
  15. Select ‘GoBright – Device’
  16. Switch on the toggle and select ‘Allow’ in the prompt.
  17. Go back to the app and select ‘Allow’
  18. Select ‘Continue’
  19. Switch on the toggle and go back to the app
  20. Select ‘Allow’
  21. Select ‘Continue’
  22. Switch on the toggle button
  23. Select Allow
  24. Go back to the app and check Date and time (change if necessary) and select Confirm and reboot
  25. After reboot your GoBright Activation Code is presented

With the activation code you’re able to go to the next step and activate the display in the GoBright portal

NOTES

*) Regarding the internet connection, we strongly advise to use wired (PoE+) connections for highest reliability.

If you have to use Wi-Fi, please make sure you have disabled the ‘Avoid poor network connections’ and ‘Notify whenever a public network is available’ in the Wi-Fi settings menu within Android. This will increase the reliability, for example when maintenance is done on the Wi-Fi network.

Please note: not all Android versions have these options, so these options might not be applicable for your device.
