Assing roles to multiple users

When you create a new user role and want to assign it to a large group of users without having to update each user individually, there are several efficient methods you can use to optimize the process. These approaches allow you to apply the new role in bulk, saving time and reducing the risk of manual errors.

  • You can assign the newly created roles to a batch of users efficiently using SCIM as this is our recommended approach. For detailed instructions on how to enable SCIM and then the role mapping step, check the article: SCIM User Provisioning (EntraID/AzureAD).
  • Also, you can assign the newly created roles by running a PowerShell script, which provides an automated way to manage user role assignments – especially when working with large user bases. For detailed instructions and script examples, please refer to the article User synchronization with Azure AD/Active Directory.
