Meeting types
A new feature in the GoBright portal allows users to select meeting types, each represented by a different colour. This enhancement provides a quick visual reference for identifying the type of scheduled meetings.
It also enables users to easily distinguish and filter meetings by type in both My Bookings and All Bookings.
Assigning a meeting type improves the Timeline view by displaying meetings in different colors, and it also optimizes the approval process by making it easier to identify and manage meetings in the Approvals list.
Creating new meeting types
Go to Settings > Meet and choose Meeting Types from the sidebar menu. A list of created meeting types will be displayed on the right-hand side.
You can add new meeting types by clicking the blue Add button in the top-right corner. From there, you can name the meeting type and select a colour using the colour picker. The Preview frame shows how this meeting type will appear in the Timeline view.
Enabling meeting types
To make meeting types available in the selection list when creating a meeting, you need to enable this feature in the room’s profile settings.
Go to Settings > Meet > Profile, open the relevant profile, and select the Enable meeting types option.
If you check the box Make meeting types required, users will be required to select a meeting type when creating a meeting.
In the Select types dropdown menu, you can choose multiple meeting types to link to this profile.
Adding meeting types in GoBright portal and mobile app
After the meeting types have been created and linked to the profile of the room, you will be able to make a selection when creating a room booking in the portal or the mobile app, or you can amend the meeting type of an existing meeting in the portal.
Create a room booking in the portal
When creating a room booking that includes multiple rooms with different room profiles, the meeting type list will display all meeting types that are enabled in any of the selected room profiles.
It is sufficient for just one of the selected room profiles to have Meeting Types enabled in order for the list to appear when creating a meeting.
Additionally, the Meeting Type field will be required if any of the selected rooms has the Meeting types required option enabled.
Create a room booking in the mobile app
Meeting types can be selected when you are creating a room booking in the GoBright mobile app.
Open the mobile app > Select a room > Select a Meeting type > Save your booking and check booking details if needed.

Room display and Mapviewer bookings
When creating bookings via the Room Display or Mapviewer, it is not possible to select a meeting type during the initial booking. However, this can be updated later in the GoBright portal. Meetings created on Room display or Mapviewer will appear in the standard red color on the Timeline.
Note: If you need to edit a booking that was originally created on a Room Display or Mapviewer—for example, to add pre-registrations or a service order—you will also need to select a meeting type before saving the changes if this field is marked as required in the room’s profile.
Meetings created in Outlook
Meeting types can also be selected in Outlook. However, it’s important to note that this field is optional in Outlook, as users may create room bookings without using the GoBright Outlook plugin.
In the GoBright Outlook plugin, first select a room. Once a room is selected, you will then be able to choose a meeting type from the available options.
