Installation Guide - Technical Configuration

Welcome to GoBright! For the technical configuration of the integration and devices please follow the steps below.

This guide gives an overview of all the available technical configurations for the IT team.

Office 365 with Entra ID / Azure AD/Active Directory

Overview

  1. Setting up the integration with Entra ID / Azure AD, with Modern Authentication for SSO.
  2. Configuration for GoBright Meet with Microsoft resource mailboxes. Skip this step if you don’t want to use GoBright Meet with an external system.

1. Setting up the integration with Azure AD, with Modern Authentication for SSO

To setup the external integration with Office 365 there are a few important configurations needed to be able to use SSO for your users, and book the Rooms with your Office 365 calendar.

Our advice is to start with step 1. Which is the configuration of the Application Mode Integration in GoBright with Modern Authentication SSO. Please check this article for more explanation.

After the configuration of the Application Mode integration in the GoBright portal, users can sign in with the SSO protocol.

Single Sign-On is also possible with other integrations such as SAML, AD FS or Google. Only read the SAML article if you do not want to use Modern Authentication through Microsoft.

2. Configuration for GoBright Meet with Microsoft resource mailbox

If you are using GoBright Meet, and you want to book Rooms via your resource calendars you need the use the same article as for the SSO: EntraID/AzureAD Enterprise Application Calendar Integration

Skip this step if you don’t want to use GoBright Meet with an external system.

After you have completed setting up the integration, you will need to add your users to the GoBright portal. This step is needed before your users can sign into the portal with SSO. Please continue to the tab about ‘Adding Users to GoBright portal’.

Microsoft Exchange with Active Directory

The image you see above shows how the communication is processed between your Exchange Server and GoBright.

To setup the external integration with Microsoft Exchange 2010-2019 there are a few important configurations needed to be able to sync and use the Rooms with your calendars in Exchange.

Please follow the configuration steps in this article.

The next step is optional. You can configure SSO with SAML for your Microsoft Exchange integration, or use the Basic Authentication for your integration. For more information please check this article.

After you have completed setting up the integration, you will need to add your users to the GoBright portal. This step is needed before your users can sign into the portal with SSO. Please continue to the tab about ‘Adding Users to GoBright portal’.

Google Workspace

To setup the external integration with your Google Workspace, there are a few important configurations needed to be able to sync and use the Rooms with your calendars in Google Calendar.

Please follow the configuration steps in this article.

After you have completed setting up the integration, you will need to add your users to the GoBright portal. This step is needed before your users can sign into the GoBright portal. You will need to add your users manually or via an Excel import.

Adding Users to GoBright portal

Automatic User Creation (optional)

Automatic User Creation functionality lets you automatically create a new GoBright user when a user logs in for the first time with their Microsoft account. Please read the bottom of the following article.

This is recommended ONLY if you don’t want to synchronize users to GoBright and only want to have users in the portal which want to use the portal.

User Synchronization with Entra ID / Azure AD using SCIM (recommended)

With our SCIM user provisioning, you can sync users from Entra ID / Azure AD to the GoBright portal. Click here for the article.

This is our most powerful and our recommended method for user sync. It is done via an Enterprise Application, and it provisions users every 40 minutes.

User Synchronization with Entra ID / Azure AD with the PowerShell script (optional)

With our PowerShell module you can sync users from Azure AD to the GoBright portal. Click here for the article.

There are multiple ways to synchronize users to your GoBright environment. Please read this article for other options then AAD/AD.

Outlook Add-In and Outlook/Teams App Plugin

Outlook Add-In

With the Outlook add-in you can book via the Outlook Calendar. Click here for the article.

Outlook/Teams/M365 app plugin

With the Outlook / Teams app plugin you can use GoBright the same way as the web portal but from Outlook or Teams. Click here for the article.

Installing the GoBright mobile App

The GoBright App communicates directly with your GoBright environment. It gives you a swift booking experience with a responsive look and feel. The app can be installed via the designated app stores:

Installing a display device

Installing the GoBright Android app

First the GoBright Android app needs to be installed on the device.

Activating a device with the GoBright app

Then the device can be activated in the portal with the GoBright Android app.

There are multiple types of sensors that can collaborate with GoBright to gather occupancy with GoBright Meet and GoBright Work. Please read this article for information and configuration. Note! To use a sensor you need to setup a Gateway.
